On The Town
It was very exciting to capture the energy of Times Square with the graphic intensity of the advertisements impacting on the people. It was especially interesting to me growing up in New York and always being part of the Times Square experience and how it has changed through the years.

it is the first pastel that Jeff painted about 4 years ago and he entered it in contest held at the Adult Community Center through the Art’s Council of Livingston and one first prize

Raymonds Painting

finally finished Raymonds on Church Street. the process of having prints made of the original so that I can post the artwork for sale online right now

The most striking image should always have impact whether it’s strong lighting a graphic depiction of a subject matter,place, or person. The painting has to grab you and make a statement. The best images always convey a feeling, which
is always my goal.
At this stage of the painting, my challenge is whether to put more detail in people’s faces, or leave it the way it is with the focus on the late afternoon lighting; the sun coming from behind the trees, also bleaching out the sidewalk on the right hand side casting long shadows in the foreground. I may simplify the leaves in the upper portion of the painting.
